Traditional Wing Chun has changed over the years to become less street effective perhaps because of the gun. However in Hong Kong the police still found Wing Chun useful because sometimes there is no chance to draw out ones gun. We have taught various members of the Canadian police and they have found the street version of Wing Chun quite useful as a backup for their work. Classical Wing Chun still forms the foundation of street combat Wing Chun but many ideas have to be tweaked, to make them really work against non-Wing Chun fighters.
