The word Kung Fu means a skill that you acquire from doing hard work. There is usually no easy way to succeed at anything unless you put in hard work.

Many of the Ip Man students were very passionate about their Wing Chun. According to Master Wang Kiu, who was a private students of the late Grandmaster Ip Man, the students of his day ate, slept and dreamt Wing Chun. They almost did Wing Chun 24 hours a day with at least 15 hours a day of physical hard work training.

In Victoria there are many good dancers who achieve many first place awards in various competitions. A typical competitive dancer who also goes to school full time will do six days of classes a week where each class could be three hours long. Typically they may have to master 10 different dance routines consisting of hundreds of movements. Whether they feel good or not, they always attend each class. Excuses are not part of their vocabulary. They have a passion for something and nothing can stand in the way of their dreams. In the past, we also had students like that.
